Belgian rockers Triggerfinger release the new single and video for ‘Come Clean’. Out Now via Sony Music / Hufter, the track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album, due for release in mid–late 2026 (album title TBA), and marks a clear next step in the band’s evolving sound.
Fronted by Ruben Block (vocals, guitar) and Mario Goossens (drums, vocals), with Geoffrey Burton (Grace Jones, Iggy Pop, Misia) joining on guitar for live shows, Triggerfinger are returning with renewed focus and intent. After 25 years as one of Belgium’s most formidable rock exports, the band are once again driven by the hunger that originally established them as one of Europe’s most explosive live acts.
‘Come Clean’ was recorded during the same studio sessions as ‘Stars’ with long-term producer and collaborator Mitchell Froom. While previous 2025 single ‘Stars’ clearly connected to Triggerfinger’s earlier repertoire, ‘Come Clean’ signals a shift in direction. The song introduces a tighter, sharper, and more rhythm-driven approach, stepping away from the expansive soundscapes and overdriven tones that characterised much of the band’s earlier work. Soaring chorus melodies and strong stylistic hooks place the track in a more accessible, commercial space, while retaining the sense of purpose and emotional weight that has helped build the band’s devoted European fanbase.
The release of the ‘Come Clean’ video today underscores this new phase for Triggerfinger, arriving as the band continue to re-establish themselves on the international live circuit. In 2025, the Antwerp-based outfit marked their 25th anniversary with a 25-date tour across Europe, most of which sold out, reaffirming their reputation as a powerful and in-demand live band. Their career highlights include opening for The Rolling Stones at British Summer Festival and touring the UK and Ireland with Thin Lizzy in 2012.
Speaking about the single, Vocalist Ruben Block explains, “The matter of confessing one’s feelings might be a weightier enterprise depending on what’s at stake or who we’re confessing to. The song sings about wrestling with the disconnect of a pressing urge to come clean and at the same time the barrier brought by the chance of receiving a negative reply. Especially in a time where a vast amount of people seem to feel no restraint to voice their opinion on everyday life without a single trace of nuance.”
Following the close of their Colossus album tour in 2019, Triggerfinger announced a sabbatical after more than two decades of near-constant touring. That break was extended by the pandemic and the departure of bassist Monsieur Paul. His passing last autumn, shortly after the release of ‘Stars’, deeply affected the band. Although he had stepped away in 2023 due to medical issues, he remained a close friend and brother to Block and Goossens, a loss that has undoubtedly shaped the drive behind the band’s current output.
With the ‘Come Clean’ video out today and a new album on the horizon for 2026, Triggerfinger move forward with a renewed sense of momentum – once again fuelled by what they describe as “the hunger to be on stage, to play music together, to feel those first two chords hit the right notes, and to witness the magic that transforms three individuals into one.”
