BIGSOUND is back with a vengeance in 2025, unveiling a sprawling lineup of over 120 acts set to take over Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley this September. With 18 stages and a stacked roster crossing rock, pop, hip hop, R&B, folk, punk, country and electronica, this year’s program reaffirms BIGSOUND’s place as a launchpad for the next wave of Australian music.

Among the standout names is WAFIA, returning home with her debut album Promised Land in tow, after years building an international fanbase with her soulful electronic R&B. Fellow returnee KAIIT – fresh from an APRA Music Award win – is also in reinvention mode, teasing material from her anticipated debut And Off She Goes.

Twelve-year-old Inkabee is already turning heads internationally, having gone viral at SXSW and even America’s Got Talent. His BIGSOUND debut is set to be one of the festival’s most talked-about moments.

Azure Ryder hits the stage following a UK breakthrough supporting Teddy Swims and BoyWithUke, while Perth’s The Southern River Band bring thunderous rock energy fresh off European festival slots including Download and Hellfest.

Shoegaze-pop darling Hatchie, a mainstay of Australia’s indie canon, returns to the stage with material from her acclaimed second LP Giving It All Away.

The festival’s choose-your-own-adventure format remains a hallmark — one wristband, access to 18 venues, and hundreds of ways to discover your next favourite act. From laneway punk to velvet-voiced soul in candlelit bars, BIGSOUND is where the industry and the audience collide.

With alumni like Flume, Tash Sultana, Courtney Barnett and King Gizzard once playing these same showcases, BIGSOUND 2025 is more than a festival — it’s a glimpse into the future of Australian music.
