Kentucky based hard rockers Black Stone Cherry have announced their signing to new label, The Mascot Label Group and yesterday (7th Oct) the band entered the studio to start recording their new album. Their previous album, Magic Mountain, released last year hit the top 5 in the UK charts upon release. However with this new forthcoming album, the fifth instalment in the Black Stone Cherry catalogue, the band are taking a more ‘back to their roots’ approach, recording in the same way and place as their debut self titled album which broke the band out back in 2006. In Just 8 years the band have made their way from 200 capacity venues to conquering 12,000 cap arenas in the UK and it would seem Mascot are excited to carry the band on further across the world.

“What can I say? The whole Mascot Label Group team is thrilled that a great band like Black Stone Cherry is putting their faith and future in our hands.” Ed van Zijl, owner of The Mascot Label Group says. “The new songs I’ve heard are awesome and we can’t wait to get started – here we come 2016!”

Black Stone Cherry guitarist, Ben Wells, is just as excited to start work with the new label proclaiming; “Their eclectic roster speaks for itself and we are excited to see how BSC can fit into their mixture of great talent…We begin recording our 5th studio album on October 7th and are beyond ready to get new music to your ears! We’re recording in our hometown with the same engineer we recorded our first album with, so needless to say, that mojo will be back in action and the riffs will tear you up! See you all on tour with a whole new BSC very soon!”
