Showing no signs of slowing down following their explosive debut album, New York-based pop-rock collective Brea Fournier & the Dream Ballet return with a bold and electrifying cover of Blondie’s iconic hit, ‘Dreaming’.

Breathing new life into the classic track, the Dream Ballet infuse the track with their signature blend of crunching guitars, soaring vocals, washes of synth and a driving, energetic and relentless rhythm section that pulls the track forward with an infectious buoyancy. The result is a more expansive and intense sound-pallet than the original whilst keep the same joyous feel.

Topped with Brea Fournier’s effortlessly spotless vocals, the track shines with a theatrical glow making for a euphoric listening experience, even praised by Debbie Harry herself who stated: “Brea & the Dream Ballet sound very, very good”

Speaking about the release, the band shared their deep connection to Blondie’s music: “As a theatrical pop-rock band with an eclectic sound, Blondie has been a huge inspiration for us. ‘Dreaming’ is an electrifying song, and we’re incredibly proud that it marks our third release with producer Barb Morrison, a frequent collaborator of Debbie Harry and Blondie. In today’s world, where oppressive circumstances call for radical thought, daring to dream is an act of rebellion. ‘Dreaming is free’ isn’t just a lyric—it’s a call to action, a reminder to envision a better world and find joy in community as we work toward it.”

Hailing from New York City, Brea Fournier & the Dream Ballet are quickly carving out a space in the underground rock scene. Fronted by the dynamic Brea Fournier, an emerging voice in feminist rock, the band features guitarist Ben Shanblatt, drummer Sophia Bondi, and bassist Noah Rosner. Their unique fusion of pop, rock, and 80s influences has earned them a dedicated following, amplified by their high-energy live shows. From Seattle to Salt Lake City, they’ve been lighting up stages across the US, sharing bills with contemporaries like Dog Party.
