Bringing more upbeat, retro vibes, The Stanford Family Band released their latest single, ‘On My Holiday’. The new single is a delightful preview of what’s to come from their upcoming EP titled ‘For Your Listening Pleasure’, slated for release via Goo Records on April 5th.
Led by the enchanting vocals of Elliot Stanford, the band’s music exudes a vintage pop charm, infused with a fresh blend of indie and garage rock elements. ‘On My Holiday’ takes listeners on a musical journey through bittersweet memories, tinged with nostalgia and the warmth of sunlit days.
Elliot explains: “I wrote this tune as an exercise a long time ago… tasked myself with writing the happiest song I could. I think musically I achieved it but the lyrics are still pretty sad and lonely I guess, but all the best songs are like that in my opinion.”
The Stanford Family Band draws inspiration from iconic acts such as The Beach Boys and The Modern Lovers, crafting their sound around complex four-part harmonies and irresistibly memorable melodic hooks.
