Australian pop icons Cub Sport have shared the news of their biggest Australian tour yet, hitting stages across the country throughout August and September. The announcement arrives ahead of this week’s release of ‘Jesus At The Gay Bar’ – the band’s hotly anticipated fifth album, out on Good Friday, April 7.

Presented by triple j, Cub Sport will kick off their national tour at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on August 18, followed by stops at Perth’s Astor Theatre on August 19, and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on August 24. After performing at Tanks in Cairns on August 31, the band will return to their hometown of Brisbane, to play at Fortitude Music Hall on September 2, before closing out the run of shows at Melbourne’s Forum, on September 8.

Cub Sport, made up of Tim Nelson, Sam Netterfield, Zoe Davis and Dan Puusaari, are surfing a wave of adulation. Since their emergence in the early-2010s, the self-managed and self-released Meanjin-based act have captivated an avid following with their vulnerable, yet self-confident, output of progressive indie-pop. A national favourite, the band have landed in triple j’s Hottest 100 five times, and have seen praise from The Guardian, BBC Radio 1, Rolling Stone, Billboard, i-D, VICE, Gay Times, The FADER and more.
