Death From Above 1979 are making up for lost time. The legendary Canadian duo are heading back to Australia this April to celebrate 20 years of You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine, their era-defining debut album, released in 2004. It’s been nearly 14 years since their last visit, and the wait has been nothing short of excruciating. For a band that fuses dance-punk, noise, and pure chaos, a DFA1979 show is less a gig and more a full-body experience, the kind that rattles your bones and forces you to move whether you like it or not.

DZ Deathrays have been locked in as special guests, and if there’s any band in Australia built to go toe-to-toe with DFA’s raw intensity, it’s them. For over a decade, Shane Parsons, Simon Ridley, and Lachlan Ewbank have kept the Aussie punk-rock flame burning bright, stacking festival slots at Reading & Leeds and Splendour In The Grass while sharing stages with Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro. Their latest record, R.I.F.F., is a high-voltage flex of their alt-punk-meets-synth-infused-chaos aesthetic, proving that they’re still one of the most ferocious live acts in the game.
