Ten years on from the record that lit the fuse, DMA’S are going home. On Friday, 27 March, the Sydney trio return to The Metro Theatre for a one-off hometown show celebrating the tenth anniversary of Hills End, an album that didn’t just introduce a band, but defined a moment.

Released in February 2016, Hills End arrived with a rush of feeling and volume, pairing big, chiming guitars with melodies built to be shouted back at the stage. Songs like ‘Delete’, ‘Lay Down’, ‘Too Soon’ and ‘Step Up The Morphine’ quickly became cornerstones of the band’s live set, and over time, touchstones for a generation raised on emotionally charged, guitar-driven Australian rock. For this intimate Metro Theatre show, DMA’S will perform the album in full, including tracks that have never been played live, before dipping into fan favourites from across their decade-long run.

That run has been nothing short of expansive. Since Hills End, DMA’S have released For NowThe Glow and HOW MANY DREAMS?, each pushing their sound outward while keeping that core emotional pull intact. Along the way, they have filled rooms across Australia, the UK and Europe, racked up Top 10 ARIA albums, claimed the ARIA Award for Best Group in 2023 and landed 13 songs in the triple j Hottest 100, including a chart-topping Like A Version that underlined their pop instincts as much as their rock DNA.

Festival stages from Glastonbury to Coachella have only amplified their reputation as a live band built for connection. Yet this Metro Theatre show promises something different. Smaller, closer, louder in its own way. A chance to rewind to the record that started it all, and hear it the way it first sounded: urgent, melodic and wide open with possibility.

To mark the milestone, the band are also releasing a Hills End 10 Year Anniversary LP, pairing the original album with previously unreleased demos. It feels less like nostalgia and more like a document of growth, a reminder that DMA’S didn’t just capture a moment, they kept moving forward from it.
