After the release of their internationally successful album, TEKKNO, Electric Callboy have now been awarded with a Gold Award for 200,000 sold units for the single ‘Hypa Hypa’.

‘Hypa Hypa’ was the starting point of a new chapter in the band’s history, followed by the #1 chart album TEKKNO and sold out shows around the globe. As a thank you, Electric Callboy released a live video ‘Hypa Hypa (Lanxess Arena 2023)’ last week from their recently sold-out show in Cologne.

The band comments:
“What an unforgettable experience we had in Cologne at Lanxess Arena! A kick ass show and
a Gold Award for our single ‘Hypa Hypa’. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank every single one of you for all your support during the last 13 years! From little youth centers to big festivals and arenas… we enjoyed every moment of this journey and we are so happy to share all this with you! Because your lovely support and your motivational feedback makes all this possible in the first place! We look forward to many more shows and good times with you!
Much love from Castrop-Rauxel!”

Dennis Moll (A&R Century Media) furthers adds:
“When we had our first meeting back in February 2020 it was full of doubt and insecurity of what the next steps would look like. And all of a sudden, we’re able to present them a Gold Award at a sold-out arena show. I think there is barley any band that has worked harder and has grown bigger during a pandemic and therefore no other ones that have deserved this more than they do. Congrats guys – the rainbow in the sky is the limit!! Let’s fuckin go!!”

Furthermore, the German shooting stars were nominated in three categories at this year’s Heavy Music Awards. Best International Artist, Best International Live Artist and Best Video.

The awards will take place on 26th May at London’s OVO Wembley Arena. Check here for voting and more info’s: https://vote.heavymusicawards.com.

Electric Callboy previously announced a special TEKKNO (Tour Edition) release which will hit the streets on 24th March via Century Media Records. The TEKKNO (Tour Edition) features the full TEKKNO album, plus five live tracks that were recorded on their sold-out 2022 European tour.

The album can be pre-ordered here: https://electriccallboy.lnk.to/TEKKNOtouredition – where the record is available in the following versions:
– Standard CD jewel-case
– Transparent light blue-lilac marbled LP
– Ultra clear-red splattered LP available from Bravado (band exclusive; limited to 1000
copies)
– Yellow-black marbled LP available from CM Distro (limited to 500 copies)
– Digital album

When Electric Callboy released TEKKNO last year, it wasn’t clear what impact the album would have. Sold-out concerts, tearing down the biggest European festivals, millions of streams (in addition to the success of ‘We Got The Moves’, ‘Pump It’; and ‘Spaceman’ sit at 23 million and 15 million Spotify streams, respectively) – the band from Castrop-Rauxel inspires an incredible range of people.

With the TEKKNO Tour 2023 now taking place in arenas around the globe (numerous international cities are already sold out!), Electric Callboy are ready for the next big step. See below for all upcoming dates!
