Eliza & The Delusionals have just thrilled their fans with the announcement that their much-anticipated second studio album, ‘Make It Feel Like The Garden,’ is set to drop on Friday, July 19. But the excitement doesn’t stop there. They’ve also unveiled a new track, ‘Somebody,’ featuring a standout sax solo that’s bound to leave a lasting impression. ‘Somebody’ is out now via Cooking Vinyl Australia, adding yet another layer to the band’s evolving sound and building anticipation for the full album release.

According to Eliza & The Delusionals, ‘Somebody’ is rooted in the fear of loss. It delves deep into the vulnerability of dependence and attachment, offering a sobering reflection on the fragility of happiness and the profound impact of intimate connections.

“This was another song we wrote in our DIY studio at our friend’s place in Napa, California. It started with a percussion loop and Kurt playing around with some chords on the piano. It eventually turned into this big piano moment that we were both obsessed with. We loved how it had ‘80s vibes and knew we had to have a saxophone moment in there somewhere. I remember seeing all of our faces in the studio when we did the sax and having a ‘wow, I can’t believe this is our song’ moment.”

Eliza Klatt

The conception of ‘Make It Feel Like The Garden’ took root on the road during Eliza & The Delusionals’ North American tour in 2022. Guitarist Kurt Skuse and Eliza penned the majority of the album in their DIY studio in Napa, California. They then brought their creations back to Australia to record with visionary producer Oscar Dawson (known for his work with Holy Holy, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, CLEWS, and Amy Shark) at his studio in Rye, Victoria.

To celebrate the release, the band will be hitting the road for a national album tour performing the album for the very first time to audiences across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane this August – presented by Handsome Tours.
