Folk musician Hazlett has released a new single titled ‘Shiver,’ which is part of his forthcoming six-track EP, scheduled for release on October 4th. This EP marks the culmination of his ‘Goodbye to the Valley Low’ project. Hazlett is an accomplished folk singer-songwriter originally from Australia, known for his introspective and evocative music that captures the essence of personal storytelling. He has forged a career marked by his distinctive blend of delicate indie-folk melodies which have rich lyrical depth.

‘I’ve always had this tug-o-war in my head of how much control do I really have of my life? Do I have to be petrified of every decision I make? Or do I just say whatever will be will be and sit back? I think to some extent whatever path we take life has a funny way of taking us to our destination anyway. But that only happens when we’re led by our gut, we have good intentions and we’re not scared to make the wrong choice. Sometimes it is just about choosing a door to open and being irrationally confident that the universe will guide you to where you need to go either way.’

‘Shiver’ is a follow up to Sweden-based songwriter’s recent track ‘Bones Shake.’ The song features a sparse arrangement with intricate acoustic guitar fingerpicking, gently philosophical lyrics, and a plaintive vocal.

The first part of ‘Goodbye to the Valley Low’ was recorded in an off-grid cabin in the remote Scandinavian wilderness and released late last year. This initial release is a stripped-back collection of delicate indie-folk songs, rich with personal anecdotes conveyed through Hazlett’s polished, introspective songwriting, and produced by longtime collaborator Freddy Alexander. This new EP completes the project with six brand new songs, which, combined with the first EP, form a cohesive album.
