News: Holly Humberstone announces Australian headline shows this November

Holly Humberstone will bring her unflinching songwriting and finely tuned storytelling to Australian audiences again this November, with headline shows presented by Secret Sounds and triple j.

The British singer-songwriter will perform at Melbourne’s Max Watt’s on Thursday 13 November, The Triffid in Brisbane on Tuesday 18 November, and Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Sunday 23 November. Tickets go on sale to the general public from Monday 18 August at 11am, following both an artist presale and a Secret Sounds presale running from Friday 15 August to Monday 18 August.

Humberstone’s devotion to the art of storytelling came to full fruition with her debut album Paint My Bedroom Black in 2023 — a bold, expansive work that cemented her as one of the UK’s most vital new voices. Across tracks like “Antichrist,” “Room Service,” “Superbloodmoon” (featuring d4vd), and the title track, she captured the restless confusion of early adulthood: love, loss, and rebuilding in the quiet of your own space. The record was praised for its emotional depth and sonic ambition, marking a clear evolution from her earlier work while staying rooted in the intimate lyricism that first brought her acclaim.

Since her breakout 2020 EP Falling Asleep at the Wheel and its 2021 follow-up The Walls Are Way Too Thin, Humberstone has built a global following with songs that explore growing up, leaving home, and navigating change. Singles such as “London Is Lonely” and “Sleep Tight” resonated for their portraits of isolation, while “Scarlett” and “Haunted House” showcased her knack for turning personal moments into widescreen anthems. Her 2024 Work In Progress EP offered another window into her internal world, with tracks like “Dive” and “Down Swinging” exploring self-doubt, growth, and resilience.

Live performance has been central to Humberstone’s rise. She’s headlined festivals like Barn On The Farm, played Glastonbury’s Woodsies Stage to a packed tent, sold out venues across Europe, Japan, and Australia, and toured the US with Olivia Rodrigo and Girl in Red. In 2024, she supported Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium, performing to tens of thousands. In addition to her own headline dates, Humberstone will also appear as special guest on Sam Fender’s Australian tour later this year.
