News: HOLYMAMI Blends Rock, Punk, and Alternative Grit On New EP ‘TRAP THERESA’

Emerging artist HOLYMAMI has released TRAP THERESA. The five-track EP that continues her trend of genre fusion and sonic experimentation, the EP highlights HOLYMAMI’s distinct approach to songwriting and production.

Known for her boundary-pushing sound, HOLYMAMI has quickly gained attention for her raw energy and genre-defiant style. TRAP THERESA builds on that momentum with a collection of tracks that explore themes of empowerment, rebellion, vulnerability, and emotional intensity.

“I just love rock music,” HOLYMAMI shares. “I’ve always gotten a sense of strength and power from rock, so this EP was me expressing parts of my mind and heart in rock form. I just wanted to create something fun, interesting, and inspiring.”

The EP opens with ‘Woman Myth and Legend a high-energy track intended as a feminist anthem that blends choppy trap beats with dramatic strings, sub bass and distorted guitar lines. HOLYMAMI describes it as a “battle cry for women,” and the song combines aggressive guitar work with a commanding vocal performance. Elsewhere ‘Desperado’ channels themes of nonconformity and personal freedom. “The only escape is to create your own world,” HOLYMAMI said of the song’s message. Musically, it leans into rebellious riffs and dynamic pacing.

The fourth track is a cover of Nine Inch Nails ‘Head Like A Hole’ – HOLYMAMI reinterprets the industrial rock classic with a female-fronted perspective, maintaining the intensity of the original while adding her own vocal and stylistic spin.

The EP closes with ‘Fading’, a slower, introspective track inspired by Mazzy Star’s Fade Into You. It presents a contrast to the rest of the EP with its dreamlike atmosphere and emotional vulnerability.

“TRAP THERESA is another ego for HOLYMAMI,” she explained. “I love the religious clashing with urban culture and grit. I feel like a holy saint and an aggressive sinner. I slay my enemies, then pray for them.”

With TRAP THERESA, HOLYMAMI continues to establish herself as a distinctive voice in the modern rock and alternative music scenes. Drawing comparisons to artists such as PJ Harvey, Rage Against the Machine, Santigold, and Veruca Salt, her latest release reaffirms her commitment to artistic risk-taking and personal expression.
