News: Middle Name John Unveils Anticipated Debut Album ‘Obviously Confidential’

Middle Name John has unveiled the hotly anticipated debut album ‘Obviously Confidential’.

Blending elements of post-punk attitude, finely crafted lyricism, and experimental fusions of rock and electronic music, Middle Name John guides listeners through a dystopian soundscape, challenging their perceptions of the world. Each track on the album delves into a distinct musical realm, offering a diverse sonic experience.

Described as more of a runaway train conductor than a narrator, Middle Name John crafts disillusioned poetry that oscillates between incisive social observations and intricate explorations of the subconscious. ‘Obviously Confidential’ serves as a poignant commentary on modern-day individualism, urging listeners to embrace empathy as a pathway to collective hope.

Recorded amidst global upheaval, the album intentionally mirrors the chaotic dialogue of the times, inviting collaboration with multi-instrumentalist friends Alessandro La Barbera, Max Mella, and Marijus Aleksa. Despite the challenges posed by remote collaboration, each contributor brings a unique perspective to the project, resulting in a playful yet profound sonic journey.

As an artist deeply engaged in activism and community involvement, Middle Name John’s music reflects a commitment to a future free from oppression and inequality. ‘Obviously Confidential’ challenges genre boundaries while addressing pressing social issues with lyrical finesse.

The album is a joint release between Slowfoot Records, known for its eclectic roster of boundary-pushing artists, and Juicy Records, an underground label championing experimental sounds. Fans can look forward to the release on streaming platforms and a limited edition cassette version.

With ‘Obviously Confidential’, Middle Name John continues to redefine the landscape of contemporary music, offering a compelling blend of sonic exploration and social commentary.

The artist shares the ideas and concepts of the album, “There are a few common themes and ideas running throughout the album. Uncertainty is surely one of them. Another would be that it’s okay to reject divisive ideas fed to us by authoritative figures and if that turns people off, that’s okay. Say hello to friends and cherish the people who push you forward when you feel too slow (you aren’t too slow). Everything does feel different, but while the world may be cruel…don’t let it make you mean.”
