MJ Lenderman is indie rock’s new golden child, blending classic rock swagger, Americana soul, country charm, and alternative grit into something timeless and captivating. Hailing from Asheville, North Carolina, the singer-songwriter and guitar maestro has been turning heads with his masterful storytelling and effortlessly raw sound.

Following the release of his critically lauded album, Manning Fireworks, Lenderman is gearing up to bring his electrifying live show to Australia. Lenderman has been announced as part of Bambra’s Meadow festival, which sees him performing on 22 March 2025. From humble beginnings, Meadow has grown and developed a loyal community and reputation for presenting line-ups on the cutting edge of contemporary music each autumn. The small, and every bit iconic, stage has hosted the likes of Kurt Vile, Lucy Dacus, Confidence Man, King Gizzard & The Lizard, Angie McMahon, Stella Donnelly, King Stingray, Camp Cope, Methyl Ethel, TFS, Black Midi and many more emerging and established local artists over the last decade.

Head HERE for Meadow ticketing information.

Lenderman will also play the iconic Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, amongst other venues. This promises to be an outstanding show, with the Guardian recently awarding an appearance by Lenderman in London 5 stars.

Praised as “the mark of a songwriter finding his voice” (Pitchfork) and placing him “in the pantheon of great singer-songwriters” (musicOMH), Manning Fireworks cements Lenderman’s status as one of the most compelling artists of his generation.

This comes on the heels of his breakout 2022 album, Boat Songs, a collection of vivid rock vignettes that drew comparisons to Neil Young, Stephen Malkmus, and Drive-By Truckers. Add to that a banner year with his band Wednesday—whose acclaimed album Rat Saw God lit up 2023—and collaborations with Waxahatchee, and it’s clear Lenderman is having a moment.
