News: NATI. Shines On New Single ‘This Town’

Scottish singer-songwriter NATI. delivers a stirring and introspective new single, ‘This Town’, the final single from her anticipated sophomore EP, Golden, due March 21st.

‘This Town’ offers a heartfelt meditation on the allure of new beginnings versus the grounding comfort of hometown roots. Written in collaboration with the female duo INK, ‘This Town’ is NATI.’s exploration of the grass-is-greener fallacy, skilfully blending nostalgia and wisdom into a melodic celebration of staying true to one’s origins.

At the song’s core is NATI.’s distinct storytelling ability, brought to life through warm imagery and a deeply personal narrative. Born from a casual writing session and originally titled the tongue-in-cheek ‘AM NO MOVIN’ the track blossomed into a touching anthem of self-awareness. NATI.’s reflective lyricism highlights the hollowness of chasing glamorized locations for fulfillment, contrasting it with the quiet joy of embracing her humble upbringing. The affection in her voice is palpable as she reminisces about her childhood in a Fife council estate, a setting that may not have been luxurious but was undeniably rich in love and contentment.

Speaking about the track, NATI. explains: “It’s about searching for the best version of yourself and nurturing them. Celebrating the tiny huge things and making them matter. It’s about cherishing what you have instead of longing for something massive. It really is a healing EP and writing it was incredibly healing for me.”

Sonically, ‘This Town’ builds on NATI.’s evolving artistry. Collaborating with Kieran Smith and Ben Buist, she weaves a lush tapestry of layered guitars, vibrant synths, sparkling keys, and dynamic percussion. This richly textured production complements the song’s emotional depth, creating what NATI aptly describes as “a swell of joy”. Her vocal performance shines with a blend of sass, gratitude, and sincerity, making every note feel like a heartfelt embrace of home.
