News: Public Warning Unleash Debut EP ‘Over/Under’

Ashbourne, Ireland-based indie-rock outfit Public Warning have released their highly anticipated debut EP, Over/Under. Produced by Keelan O’Reilly (known for his work with Post-Party, Still Blue, Paddy Keyes, and The Drive), the EP highlights the band’s dynamic blend of high-energy indie-rock fused with a melodic and infectious edge.

Packed with biting guitar tones, lush synths, driving drums, and tight bass lines, Over/Under balances commercial appeal with an alternative sensibility. The EP is led by the radiant opening track and lead single, ‘Keying My Car,’ a powerful example of the band’s ability to craft danceable yet emotionally charged anthems. The song builds towards an explosive and euphoric guitar solo, dips into a reflective middle eight, and culminates in an anthemic final chorus.

Frontman Adam O’Dea sheds light on the track’s meaning: “‘Keying My Car’ is a fiery take on a toxic love story, capturing the frustration of a failing relationship. Musically, it embodies what we stand for—singalong choruses and bouncing rhythm sections that set the tone for the rest of the EP.”

Expanding on the EP’s overarching theme, O’Dea adds: “With Over/Under, we wanted to capture that in-between space—where you’re not who you were, but you’re not quite who you’re becoming yet. It’s about growing up, learning from mistakes, and figuring out what really matters in relationships and in life.”

Public Warning have already made waves in the Irish music scene, selling out shows across the country and securing a spot on high-profile Spotify Editorial Playlists, including Hot New Bands and Fresh Finds UK & IE. Their music has also received strong support from RTE 2FM, where they were featured as Track of the Week on Roz & Emma.

With a growing fanbase and increasing radio play, Public Warning are solidifying their status as a band to watch. Over/Under is just the beginning—this Irish indie-rock powerhouse is poised to take their music to an even wider audience across the UK and beyond.
