News: Reef Announce 30th Anniversary ‘Replenish’ UK Tour This Autumn

This Autumn, Somerset rockers Reef will play a special run of dates across the UK to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album, ‘Replenish’.

Kicking off at Rock City in Nottingham this October, the ‘Replenish’ tour will take Reef to O2 Academy venues in Bristol, Liverpool and Leeds, as well as a number of other beloved venues around the country. The dates will conclude with a huge show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 8th November.

The band have already announced Ireland’s Kerbdog as the main support across most of their UK ‘Replenish’ tour dates. More recently, Reef announced their plans to bring along special guest Ben Ottewell, frontman for indie-rockers Gomez, for their shows at the O2 Ritz in Manchester on 30th October and the O2 Academy in Liverpool on 31st October.

The full list of dates can be found below. Tickets for all shows available here.

This year marks three decades since the release of Reef’s iconic 1994 album ‘Replenish’, which they will be celebrating with the tour. “We will of course be playing the album in full as well as other fan favourites,” shares singer Gary Stringer, “It’s lush to revisit the starting point of what has been a wonderful adventure. So do come and join us.” ‘Replenish’ is where it all started. “That record changed our lives,” says Gary, “It’s kids from the countryside coming to the city and saying, ‘This is us, this is our energy, this is what we want to share.’ And people connected with it.”

Produced by Clive Martin, the raw energy of this album spawned the hit singles “Good Feeling” and the riff monster that is “Naked”. And it still sounds just as fresh and uncompromised today as it did upon release. The album’s success led the band to tour with the legendary grunge act Soundgarden and stoner rock pioneers Kyuss, as well as leading to the band opening the NME stage at Glastonbury. Thirty years later, with number one albums, countless tours, and a string of massive hits under their belts, Reef are still out there, passion undimmed and thoroughly looking forward to revisiting where it all started.

The ‘Replenish’ UK tour starts at Nottingham’s Rock City on 16th October and finishes at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 8th November. For more details and to buy tickets, visit www.reeftheband.com
