Off the back of a sold-out run of international festival slots, Royel Otis are heading home for their biggest Australian shows to date. This October, they’ll play four huge events in support of their upcoming second album, ‘hickey’, out August 22 – including their very first arena show in Naarm/Melbourne AND another homecoming show at Hordern Pavilion in Eora/Sydney.
If it feels like they’ve barely taken a breath since their debut ‘Pratts & Payne’ last year, that’s because they haven’t. In just under two years, they’ve gone from buzzy newcomers to ARIA winners selling out tours worldwide, somehow balancing the scrappy charm of a garage band with the polish of main stage veterans (complete with giant stage prawns to boot).
Excitingly, Royel Otis are warming things up with two super intimate sets in Eora/Sydney and Naarm/Melbourne this month, a nod to their roots and a thank-you to fans who’ve been there since the early days. It’s a rare chance to catch them in rooms that really won’t be an option for much longer.
