News: Ryan Toomin Releases Debut Album ‘Disarray’

Singer-songwriter Ryan Toomin releases the vibrant debut album Disarray. Telling personal stories of growth, change, and rediscovery, the album brings 9 buoyant tracks that move between indie-folk, psychedelic Tame Impala-esque moments and others of intimate Beatles-esque reflection.

Disarray’s nine tracks offer an authentic and introspective glimpse into Toomin’s journey from the bustling cityscape of Los Angeles to the quiet expanses of Kentucky’s countryside.

“Inspiration struck when I found myself living alone in the middle of a cow field with nothing but my iPhone to capture ideas,” Toomin reflects. “Adjusting to life in Lexington, I started piecing together my own studio. This album is about the disarray that often fills our lives, the process of letting go of past loves, facing loneliness, and eventually finding my way to new love and stability.”

Influenced by artists like The War on Drugs, Whitney, and Elliott Smith, Disarray unfolds with rich melodic guitar lines, introspective lyrics, and heartfelt vocals. In a nod to his DIY spirit, Toomin played every instrument himself, immersing himself in the technical aspects of production and engineering to bring his vision to life. His hands-on approach results in an album that’s as much about musical exploration as it is about personal reflection.

Each track on Disarray captures a unique slice of Toomin’s experience, moving seamlessly from themes of loss and uncertainty to hope and renewal. With songs that meditate on life’s disarray and the growth that can emerge from it, Toomin invites listeners to reflect on their own journeys and the beauty found in embracing change.
