Following the release of ‘Clueless’ earlier this year, rising pop innovator Sloane Monroe is back with her electrifying new single, ‘Magnetic’.

Bringing a bouncing electronic backdrop as plucky synths dance around the four to the floor beat, Monroe delivers sharp, pointed lyricism and playful melodies to create a sound which is unapologetically commercial. True to its name, ‘Magnetic’ is a vibrant, pulse-racing earworm that seamlessly blends the boundary-pushing top lines of electronic music with sleek, intoxicating pop sentimentalism. Channeling noughties nostalgia and contemporary sonic prowess, the track sets Monroe up for an exhilarating 2025 as she continues to evolve her sound.

Reflecting on the origins of Magnetic, Monroe shares how the song’s infectious bassline first came to life: “I originally wrote this song for solo loop violin when I was 15.  I had an octave pedal that I would plug my violin into so I could sound like a cello, and I would spend hours improvising over the bouncy bass line. I would play it at open mics around London, and people seemed to love it. My friend had a Prophet 5 synthesizer that he let me borrow the other year, and I jokingly started to play that same bass line. Immediately, I thought, ‘Oh, this is cool as hell. I’ve gotta write some lyrics and make a dance track to this.’

The instrumental was always sexy, seductive, and a bit dark, so I wanted to write a tune that reflected that energy.  I wanted to write a tune that girls could strut down a runway or stumble down the pavement to. I use this tune to remind myself that I’m confident, hot, and powerful. I hope it makes others feel the same way.”

Drawing inspiration from London’s dynamic nightlife, Monroe continues to carve her own lane, injective her pop tendencies with a fresh faced, club friendly electronic flare. With ‘Magnetic’, she delivers a confident and uninhibited energy which shines bright.
