The Sizzos return with the new double single ‘Wooden Bridge’ and ‘Lizard Skin’. Showcasing a blend of 80 rock-pop akin to A Flock Of Seagulls adorned with elements of shoegaze with their reverby, atmospheric production, the two singles highlight a hypnotic, infectious sense of creativity.

Led by the visionary singer-songwriter George Zaninovich, The Sizzos have carved out a niche for themselves over two decades, garnering praise from critics and fans alike. Zaninovich’s depth of experience as a musician shines through in this latest release, reaffirming his prowess in crafting compelling compositions.

‘Wooden Bridge’, a collaboration with This Side of Wednesday, delves into themes of longing and liberation, weaving a narrative of escape and introspection. With ethereal vocals and driving bass, the track resonates with raw emotion, serving as a poignant reminder of the importance of connection.

On the other side of the spectrum, ‘Lizard Skin’ offers a nostalgic journey reminiscent of iconic bands like Tears for Fears and The Cure. Featuring the instrumental prowess of Dylan Lounsberry, the track mirrors the shedding of expectations in parenthood, exploring themes of growth and transformation.

In a recent interview, Zaninovich reflected on his influences and aspirations, citing artists like Michael Kiwanuka, War on Drugs, The Cure, and The National. He expressed his hope that listeners find solace and connection in his music, immersing themselves in the rich emotional tapestry it weaves.

Yet, what truly sets Zaninovich apart is his meticulous approach to soundstage and mixing. Through deliberate use of distant sounds and atmospheric elements, he adds depth and nuance to his compositions, creating an immersive sonic experience.

As anticipation builds for the release of ‘Vol. 1 of the Singles Series’, The Sizzos continue to push the boundaries of creativity and artistry. With a blend of heartfelt storytelling and atmospheric soundscapes, they invite audiences to embark on a journey of introspection and exploration.
