Emei, the rising star from LA’s alt-pop scene, has quickly become a name to watch. With her captivating vocals and sharp wit, she’s carved out a niche in the pop landscape. Now, Emei is ready to bring her sound down under, marking her debut Australian tour next month.

Today, Emei drops her latest single, ‘RABBITHOLE,’ a track that throws listeners headfirst into the chaotic spiral of panic and mental turmoil. “‘RABBITHOLE’ sounds and feels like falling, panic, and your mind racing,” Emei explains. “We play with whimsical magical touches and racing sounds and all sorts of breakdowns. It touches upon how even though I’ve tried mantras and affirmations and breathing exercises, it often just makes me fall deeper and deeper down into the rabbithole.“

Known for her powerhouse performances, she’s set to bring her signature energy to the stage with hits like ‘Scatterbrain’ and ‘Better People To Leave On Read.’ Naarm/Melbourne’s Corner Hotel will host her on 17 September, followed by Eora/Sydney’s Manning Bar on 18 September, and Meanjin/Brisbane’s The Brightside on 19 September.

Emei’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric. Following the success of her Deluxe ‘Scatterbrain’ project, her playful yet poignant lyricism has gained traction beyond the US, building a dedicated global fan base. Tracks like ‘Irresponsible’ and ‘Love Me Not’ showcase her ability to turn personal experiences into universally relatable anthems. This year has only cemented her status, with sold-out shows across the US and Europe and a nod from Spotify as one of 2024’s Artists To Watch in the Pop Rising category.

With her online presence skyrocketing—over half a million new followers in just a few months—Emei’s reach now spans over 4 million. Her upcoming Australian tour is just the beginning of what promises to be a breakthrough year on the international stage.
