News: UK Post-Punk Hardcore Heavyweights High Vis Begin Australian Tour Supporting SPEED + Naarm/Melbourne and Eora/Sydney Headline Shows

UK post-punk heavyweights High Vis are set to electrify Australian audiences this August and September with a double-barrel tour announcement. First up, their highly anticipated headline tour, followed by a national support slot for SPEED’s blistering ‘ONLY ONE MODE’ debut album tour. Known for their ferocious live energy, High Vis promises an intense, unforgettable experience. Tickets are on sale now, with dates locked in for Sydney and Melbourne this week.

High Vis’ headlining shows will showcase their distinctive sound and deep connection with fans as torchbearers of today’s vibrant post-punk scene. Melbourne’s Stay Gold will feature an impressive lineup with Geld, Serpette, Peace Ritual, and Best Believe. Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory will see Histamine, Shady Nasty, Compound, and Succ sharing the stage.

This tour announcement follows the release of their latest single, ‘Mob DLA’, on Dais Records, which has garnered praise from both fans and critics alike. High Vis, formed in 2016 by members of beloved UK hardcore bands (Dirty Money, Tremors, DiE, The Smear), have steadily built a reputation for impassioned performances and an evolving discography that bridges the gap between hardcore and post-punk.

The band—comprising vocalist Graham Sayle, drummer Edward ‘Ski’ Harper, bassist Jack Muncaster, and guitarists Martin Macnamara and Rob Hammaren—blend raw English street punk energy with Britpop melodies, psychedelic tones, and even a touch of Madchester groove. Sayle’s reflections on their genre-blurring sound capture their forward-thinking ethos, “For years hardcore had pretty clear boundaries–other scenes were separate worlds. Now things are getting more blended, drawing from different places.”

High Vis first made waves with their 2019 debut, ‘No Sense No Feeling‘, carving out their niche with “post-industrial-Britain misery punk.” Their 2022 follow-up, ‘Blending‘, marked a significant step forward musically and lyrically, as they tackled social and political issues, offering hope through their aggressive yet uplifting sound. Years of relentless touring and shared struggles have cemented them as stalwarts of the hardcore scene, pushing boundaries and inspiring others.
