News: Yellowcard Are Taking ‘Ocean Avenue’ on the Road for Its 20th Birthday—And They’re Bringing Friends

Yellowcard are making their way back to Australia in April 2025 to celebrate 20 years of ‘Ocean Avenue’, the record that catapulted them from Florida upstarts to alt-rock icons. And they’re not coming alone—emo-punk heavyweights Motion City Soundtrack and Plain White T’s are on board for the ride, making this one hell of a lineup.

With over 1.8 million copies sold in the US and over a billion streams, ‘Ocean Avenue’ is more than just a record—it’s a generational anthem. Back in 2003, tracks like ‘Only One’, ‘Breathing’, and the titular ‘Ocean Avenue’ soundtracked teenage angst, skate park sessions, and heartbreaks across the globe. Two decades later, its impact hasn’t faded, and now Aussie fans get the chance to relive it live.

Hitting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, and Brisbane, this marks Yellowcard’s first Aussie run since 2017—and they’re not coming alone.

Joining them is none other than Motion City Soundtrack, the Minneapolis emo-pop outfit that defined a generation with their infectious hooks and jittery synths. Known for anthems like ‘Everything Is Alright’ and ‘The Future Freaks Me Out’, the band has made a triumphant return after a decade-long hiatus, dropping their comeback single ‘Stop Talking’ in August and proving they’ve still got it. This will be their first Australian shows since 2016, and you won’t want to miss it.

Completing the triple threat? Plain White T’s, making their way back for the first time since their Soundwave 2008 appearance. The Chicago crew shot to global fame with the Grammy-nominated, chart-topping ‘Hey There Delilah’, but their catalogue goes far beyond that, racking up 2.7 billion streams and critical praise from the likes of TIME, Billboard, and Rolling Stone.
