We are very pleased to unveil the new single ‘Midnight, Dragon Garden’ from indie pop merchants Model Home, signed to Brisbane’s False Peak Records in a joint venture with New Zealand’s Papaiti Records label. A new album has also been announced, with the band about to embark on a tour around New Zealand.
‘Midnight, Dragon Garden’ has the band’s signature jingle jangle brightness and airy floating vocals wrapped around a melancholy melody and dry observant lyrics. The band says:
Midnight is a love song. The love of your friends, the love of dumplings and mapo tofu, things of this nature.
This is a band that is adept at creating an antipodean tone infused with a visceral power and a powerful delivery. The track has an alt. folk air with a story telling tradition with an iron heart beat and a wistful tone:

The track comes off the band’s debut album ‘…And Nobody Made A Sound’ just announced for release on 15 September and to be supported by a national New Zealand tour – dates as follows:
