Torontonian Lou Canon released her very good debut album Audomatic Body barely over a year and a half ago. Definitely spend some time with it over on Bandcamp if she’s new to you, and then you can come back here to hear, and also see, six of its songs reimagined by a diverse set of collaborators. She’s even created a visual narrative for the set, released as Reimagine the Body.

We’re premiering the video for the EP’s closing track, on which Canon teams up with Hamilton, Ontario’s ZOON to rework ‘Next to You’. She had this to say about the shoegaze outfit’s interpretation: “I imagine listening to this song under the night sky in awe of the Milky Way. ZOON brings the magic-like constellations to the stars. It’s both grandiose and soothing, perhaps like Mother Nature herself.“

Immerse yourself in it below, and we’ve also included the entire visual EP for your delectation – the collection also features remixes from the likes of July Talk, Holy Fuck and Lido Pimienta, and it’s out today via Paper Bag Records.
