Modern Hinterland, whose much vaunted album ‘The Longest Part of the Night’ was released earlier in the year on Label Fandango, have recorded a session for BBC Intoducing, and from it we’re delighted to be premiering ‘Just be sitting with you’.
What began as a solo project for songwriter Chris Hornsby has expanded with the addition of Tim Thackeray on Bass, Colin Marshall on Drums and latterly Simon Shippey on Guitar, they bring all their various elements – indie, Americana, and folk to create something special.
‘Just be sitting with you’ is a case in point, dripping with emotion and hushed melancholy, the little drags and flicks of guitar just adding that little bit of grit, obscuring the view, like tears in your eyes.
