Taken from his forthcoming album ‘I will rise with the birds’, out on the brilliant Sonar Kollecktiv imprint next month, we are absolutely delighted to premiere the new track from Pete Josef, Lavender.
Having previously worked with the likes of Manu Delano and Roni Size, Pete has always had soul music close to his heart, and this is evident from Lavender. It grows out of this smooth piano line, Josef’s warm, lovable vocal hung on a beautifully melodic tune, and decorated with spidery bass, increasingly prevalent horns and some affecting string sounds over the changes as it flowers into something life affirming.
