South West London indie rock quartet The Motive are releasing their new single tomorrow (3rd February) and we’re delighted to be able to premiere it right here today on Backseat Mafia. The upcoming band are racking up good numbers on streaming services, just going over 850,000 streams, and this new single should be the push to get them onto six figures.

Of the track, the band say “We wrote ‘Live It Again’ during the summer of 2020 amidst sunshine and all around good vibes, hence the summery and joyous feel of the track. Having not decided on lyrics at that point yet we left the song as it was for some months, coming back in late 2020 / early 2021 to finish writing it. It seemed appropriate considering the mood of the nation, especially young people, to write about the feeling of wanting ‘normal life’ back. This is something we as a band would kill for considering we haven’t been able to gig for a prolonged period of time! The track also features themes of the worsening lockdown restrictions (curfews etc.)”.

These guitar riffs spew out at the beginning, spreading that little bit of euphoria wherever they land. As they clear, so these melodies nudge and coax and implore smiles as they go. If that doesn’t get you, then the chorus will. It’s a little three minute bundle of joy. Check it out, here
