Float Along Festival returns to Sheffield on Saturday 27th September 2025 with its biggest and boldest line-up yet – a full-day celebration of the best in alternative music. Following last year’s success, the festival expands across a wider range of the city’s iconic venues and unveils a thrilling first wave of artists, offering a bold mix of emerging talent and renowned acts.

Among the first names announced are the critically acclaimed poetic wordsmith Antony Szmierek, along withcosmic folk innovator Jane Weaver. Float Along continues its commitment to spotlighting boundary-pushing talent, with Glastonbury Emerging Talent winners Westside Cowboy leading the charge as one of the UK’s most talked-about new bands. Former Blinders frontman Thomas Haywood also returns with his raw, riff-heavy new outfit Whitehorse – set to catch the eyes and ears of indie rock n roll lovers. They’ll be joined by the genre-blurring stylings of singer-songwriter Blossom Caldarone and multi-dimensional collective Mandrake Handshake. With many more names still to come, 2025’s edition promises to be Float Along’s most ambitious yet.

Event organisers Strange Days said, “Float Along has grown far beyond what we imagined when we started it – and that’s all down to the energy of Sheffield and the incredible community around alternative music. This year, we’ve pushed things further, expanding the line-up and taking over more venues to create an experience that’s both intimate and electric. From breakthrough acts to cult favourites, we’re proud to be building something that champions discovery and keeps independent music at its heart.”

Alongside the live acts, the festival will also feature late-night DJ sets and a curated selection of independent street food traders, with over 20 more artists still to be announced.

The live music element of the event will run from 1pm until 11pm (14+) with DJ’s from 11pm until 2am (18+).
