Alice Short, in her own words, creates “Hip Hop made by an introvert that hangs out with a bunch of songwriters”. She is making a huge impression on the people of her native Nottingham and has been an active part of the vibrant city scene since 2016. Her first single ‘Small Towns’ was featured on BBC introducing, with airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6. In a follow up to the hugely popular ‘Harvey Weinstein’ single (January 2018), Alice returns with an independent release ‘Collect your Thoughts’, out March 7th 2018. The single is picking up excellent reviews already and was featured on BBC Introducing, East Midlands on 3/3/2018. Stripped back with eerie chords and gently stuttering percussion, Short raps over the top with insight and some considerable skill. From billing on major festivals to supporting scene favourites, or being asked to perform at the UK premiere of Hip Hop film ‘Patti Cakes’, Alice never fails to please.
