KIM GORDON really should need no introduction if you at all profess to be a music head; unless, of course, deep in the Amazon, Livingstone I presume, &c.

She’s just dropped the video for “Hungry Baby”, a rip-roaring track taken from her solo debut, No Home Record, which came out on Matador in October 2019; it stars daughter Coco Gordon-Moore, and you can watch below. And crikey, that’s a drone noise rock mantra if ever there were.

The video comes courtesy Clara Balzary, who says: “I came up with the idea for the video after listening to ‘Hungry Baby’ on a 2020 angst-fuelled walk around my suburban neighborhood.

“Coco is an amazing performer, and [I] loved her as this character with such a raging internal world set against that quiet, empty backdrop of the parking lot.

“I’m so grateful to Kim for being so supportive and open to the idea. She is such a role model as someone for whom an art practice always comes before worries about ego or branding.”

Kim recently performed songs from No Home Record, including ‘Hungry Baby’, on a recent aired episode of Echoes with Jehnny Beth; you can watch that here.

Kim Gordon’s No Home Record is available now digitally and on cassette, CD, trad black and limited white vinyl; you can pick up a copy direct from Matador here, or from your trusted local record emporium.

Follow Kim Gordon at her website, on Twitter, on Facebook and Instagram; here’s her official store.
