Well for those in the know the wait is over and for those waiting the day is here. Shoegaze trail blazers and original scene pioneers Ride have shared the official video for Charm Assault. Although the (Official Audio) teasers for ‘Home is a Feeling’ and this track ‘Charm Assault’ were unveiled a few weeks ago. This official video is Ride’s first official new material for twenty years. It’s superb Super 8 psychedelia too, framed like a pharmacological Polaroid to accompany the crunch and sparkle of fuzz and chorus that are trademarks of the original Ride sound. Perhaps it’s not a surprise then to learn that this new video was conceived by Anton Newcombe & Jean de Oliveira.

‘Charm Assault’ has the energy of the early ‘Ride’ and ‘Play’ EP’s and will appeal to fans of ‘Nowhere’ and ‘Going Blank Again’. This is due to the track having that afore mentioned energy, cut with a politicised wit and a sardonic playfulness. As if the kaleidoscopic promo reel alone wasn’t enough, the band have today published the release date for their eagerly anticipated new LP.

‘Weather Diaries’ is out via Wichita on the 16th June 2017 in various formats, including double LP in black and limited indies only clear vinyl and limited digipak CD. Pre-order now from reputable dealers. I KNOW I HAVE!!!
