Slowthai premiered the video for ‘Cancelled’ on Tuesday, a dark reminder to everyone watching about the darker side of cancel culture. It is a bold response to those who tried to tear him down last year.

The video is directed by THE REST, drawing on a swathe of classic horror movie references from scary movie that sees Ty, Skep, Kwes. Krash and Samo hollering ‘WAGWAAAAAAN?’ down the phone to each other, to Slowthai being Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) through Silence of the Lambs, Candyman, Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The maverick artist’s unrivalled schizophrenic energy is clear to see, while Skeppy holds it down with a tight verse and the hooks. The production on this joint utilises those East-coast trap elements championed by ASAP Mob regularly. Synergising with the lyrics, it has an eerie texture, really setting the tone for this unique offering.

This single precedes Thai’s highly anticipated 2nd studio album ‘Tyron’, that will be available to stream this Friday.
