Ane Brun has released a heart-warming new single, Trust, via her label, Balloon Ranger Recordings. It is the first taste of her as-yet-untitled eighth studio album, which will represent her first of original material since 2015’s acclaimed When I’m Free
Ane elaborates “It was first written as a romantic song, but as we’re in this state of uncertainty around the planet it feels like it has gained more meaning. It feels like this was exactly the right time to release ‘Trust’ into the world”.
Its certainly romantic with its soft almost breathless jazz vocal and soothing backing. Swirling strings swap with synths and twinkling keys to help float the song along as Ane sings of trust in love and the one you love. With only the steady drum beat to keep your feet on the ground. Her voice is exquisite and a balm for the world and it’s madness.
