Fresh off the announcement of their upcoming performance at the Isle Of Wight Festival this summer, Arkayla releases the radiant new single ‘Falling Down’ and announce their self-titled debut EP.

Capturing a youthful vibrancy, underpinned by its tight, lightly distorted production and chorus tinted, bright guitar tones, Arkayla’s new single captures a captivating energy and some wonderful song-craft. Driven forward by its racing drum beat and strummed guitar, the tracks melodic lead vocals are underpinned by some excellently placed harmonies that manage to deliver a heartfelt sense of melancholy among the high octane, joyous indie tone.

As the track grows into its infectious chorus, dappled guitar licks swell around the lead vocal that grow more fuzzy towards the tracks climax, adding to the driving sense of urgency within the instrumentation. Lead singer Cal Blakebrough describes ‘Falling Down’ as “The Strokes meets The Smiths, which I think is a great combo”.

Arkayla’s recent demos caught the attention of Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Courteeners, The Coral) who recorded and produced the forthcoming EP at Kempston Street Studios. “Turvey is the first producer who has been able to truly capture the essence of ARKAYLA, distilled down to it’s purest, natural form,” lead guitarist Finley Rubens affirms, “he could always tell when we were veering off the path and would always be there to gently shove us back towards the goal”.

With their EP release on the horizon and a growing hype around the band, Arkayla are set for a big 2024.
