Canadian singer-songwriter Billianne has shared a new single, Memories, ahead of her debut album Modes of Transportation, which will be released on August 15 via The Orchard.
The track follows a run of live performances on CBS Saturday Morning, COLORS, and earlier this year on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where the 22-year-old Milton, Ontario musician has introduced songs from her forthcoming record.
Across the album’s ten tracks, Billianne traces the idea of movement – between places, relationships, and stages of life – in songs that span upbeat pop, folk-inspired storytelling, and sparse piano ballads. Her television appearances have previewed that range: from the charting single Crush to the slow-burn of Future Emma, and the unreleased Jessie’s Comet and Modes I.
Billianne’s profile has grown steadily since a 2021 cover of Tina Turner’s The Best went viral on TikTok, earning millions of views and endorsements from artists including Taylor Swift, The Lumineers and P!nk. Since then she has reached 100 million global streams, broken into the Canadian Top 10 with Crush and made her US television debut performing Daydream on The Today Show.
Modes of Transportation marks the next step in her move from social media breakout to a songwriter establishing her own voice.
