Brighton quartet Nature TV announce their eagerly anticipated debut album, Unlucky For Some, set for release via indie label heavyweights Heist or Hit. To mark the occasion, the band has unveiled their new single, ‘One Step Forward’, accompanied by a brilliant new video featuring TV comedian Alex Horne, well known for Channel 4’s Taskmaster.

Produced by longtime collaborator Solo Major, ‘One Step Forward’ delivers a meticulously layered soundscape. A buoyant bass line leads the way, laying the foundation for fuzz-tinged guitars that shimmer over crisp, perfectly executed drums. The analog-inspired production brings a vintage warmth to the track, while the laid-back vocals from frontman Guy add a soulful depth. The lyrics, imbued with bittersweet introspection, explore the frustration of fleeting progress and elusive victories, as Guy describes, “Climbing to the top of that mountain just to discover a higher peak. A real vinegar in your sugar moment.”

Accompanying the single is a captivating music video starring BAFTA-winning comedian Alex Horne, best known for his work on Taskmaster. Taking inspiration from the retro charm of Top of the Pops, the video offers a playful yet loving homage to the iconic TV show.

Speaking about his role in the video, Horne shares, “I’d never been in a music video before, so I said yes instantly. I loved Top of the Pops growing up—it was unmissable. Being able to present my own version, even just for fun, was a dream come true. The shoot was as fun as I hoped, full of good vibes, snacks, and even a new jumper I picked up on the way home.”

For Nature TV, collaborating with Horne added an exciting new layer to the project. Bass player Josh explains, “Making the video for One Step Forward was an absolute dream. It was incredible to have Alex involved—we’re all huge fans and still can’t believe he agreed. The energy from our fans who joined us on set made it even more special.”

With a US tour on the horizon and a full album on the way, 2025 is set to be a big year for Nature TV.
