Track: Lutruwita/Tasmanian’s gothic Dvrkworld unveil thundering new single ‘Stimulation’ ahead of Party in the Paddock festival outing this weekend.

Without any hint of fanfare or warning, the dark lords of southern shoegaze Dvrkworld have snuck out a new single ‘Stimulation’. An electrical crackle and slamming drums over a bed of feedback introduce a visceral wall of noise that looms like a tsunami, before the louche, distant Antarctic vocals enter the sonic fray.

It’s heady stuff with guitars that reverberate around the cranial cavity like a hollow point bullet, and yet delivers an anthemic chorus with a delicious pop sensibility that hints of bands like Garbage or Slowdive:

‘Stimulation’ does what it says on the label and is another example of the endless virtues of this band. It is out now and available through the link above and via all the usual download and streaming sits (I presume – there’s no PR for this release).

The single comes just as the band sets out to play at the epic Tasmanian Party in the Paddock this weekend – details below. Where’s my invitation?
