Chris A. Cummings was described as a “Toronto music scene secret.” and I must admit I was in the dark myself. His first single off new album High January comes in the form of a catchy pop joy – Waiting For Grace featuring Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab.

Waiting For Grace bobs along at a steady pace Jazz piano and a hint of guitar opening the track before Chris croons about waiting for a saving grace. Be it female form or a rescue. Its the smooth jazz this man does so well.

As the man was quoted as saying “Music is a form of expression; It’s how I express myself. If it comes from the heart, you can never go wrong.” You can not go wrong checking out this release and then moving straight onto his album when it is released this spring via Tin Angel Records. A fitting time indeed if the single is to go by with its light and breezey vibe.

Check it out, here.
