Akaye’s rising glam-rockers Mulga Bore Hard Rock are back, and they’re bringing the heat with their blistering second single, “Sweet Home Mulga Bore”, out now via Community Music. It’s a raw and electrifying ode to home, family, and culture—reimagining a country ballad penned by Akaye elder Dave Bird, now supercharged with searing guitars and pounding drums.

The track, originally a traditional singalong for frontman Alvin Manfong and his family, has been reborn as a full-throttle rock anthem. Drenched in nostalgia, it paints a vivid picture of life in Mulga Bore, where the pulse of the land, the thrill of the hunt, and the bonds of family shape every note. It’s the sound of tradition meeting arena-sized ambition.

Buy/Stream Sweet Home Mulga Bore HERE.

This sound always reminds me of growing up in the bush with all our families coming together. I see all the bush tucker, goanna, kangaroo, bush tomatoes, bush banana and bush honey from the tree and honey ants. We found some old footage from our parents days before most of us were born. They are doing the same thing then as we do now, hunting and eating together to be healthy. It also reminds me of all the amazing times we have been on the road playing around Australia and how lucky we are to share our story from Mulga Bore to the world.” Alvin Manfong

For a band made up of teenagers aged 15 to 20, they’ve already stomped all over expectations. The band opened for KISS on their farewell Australian tour. Since then, they’ve stormed Bigsound, turned heads at SXSW Sydney, and been hailed as one of Double J’s top acts of the year.

With their high-octane mix of glam, grit, and generational storytelling, Mulga Bore Hard Rock are proving that rock & roll’s future is burning bright in the desert.

MULGA BORE HARD ROCK – TOUR DATES

Thursday 6 March – The Tote, Collingwood VIC (tickets here)
Friday 7 March – Port Fairy Folk Festival, Port Fairy VIC
