Dream-pop duo The fin. unveils the beguilling, minimal yet radiant and inventive new single ‘Echoes’.

A track that grows form its spacious opening to a swirling and lo-fi backdrop of drum machines, interesting production and analogue synths, the single displays all the creativity which has seen the pair acclaimed in press previously.

Opening with a single synth and reverb soaked lead vocal, the track immediately sets a alternative tone before the melody move to add a luscious flourish of backing harmonies and beautifully wonky arpeggiator. Immersive and minimal, ‘Echoes’ gradually moves to a instrumental break as distant vocals move above distant drums.

The second verse adds a tempo with a clap over the addictive main melody before growing into a full beat and deep sub bass that floats into the vibrant final section. A sound that drifts between dream-pop, neo-soul, psychedlic-pop and electronica, ‘Echoes’ is a beautiful example of the duos capabilities.

Talking about the track, the pair explain: “‘Echoes’ is a journey into the quiet heart of my hometown. A hill under endless stars, where the air feels alive with clarity and memory. This place became a mirror for my soul, reflecting the person I used to be and guiding me toward the simplest, purest version of myself. The song weaves through questions of identity and the deep pull of nostalgia, inviting you to explore your own echoes of the past. I hope it resonates something within you.”

With performances spanning the UK, US, Europe, and Asia, The fin. has graced renowned festivals such as FUJI ROCK, Summer Sonic, SXSW, and The Great Escape. Their 2023 China tour saw them play in over 25 cities, drawing a cumulative audience of over 20,000 at solo performances.

The band’s discography includes their 2014 debut Days With Uncertainty, entirely self-produced by Uchino, followed by There (2018), which welcomed co-producer Bradley Spence (Jamiroquai, Radiohead, alt-J). The EP Wash Away (2019) further expanded their sound with contributions from Spence and Jake Miller (Bjork, Arca), culminating in their 2021 album Outer Ego, once again produced solely by Uchino.

With Echoes, The fin. continues to refine their distinctive sonic approach, offering listeners an immersive escape into nostalgia and introspection.
