Former Screaming Maldini main man Nick Cox is always welcome here on Backseat Mafia. Until their untimely split in 2014, they were almost universally accepted amongst our writers as our favourite band, which made it virtually unimaginable why they were everyone’s favourite band.
He’s carried on making music in various ways and guises since, and has a new slice of wonky synth pop out now called Don’t Even. According to Nick, it’s about knowing when to let go of arguments with your nearest and dearest. Impossibly catchy and as satisfying as anything his previous charges put out, all stabs of synth here, and shards of bass there, and a chorus to die for.
