If you were lucky enough to have caught Drenge on their fairly recent UK tour, and if you had the good sense to get to the gig early you would have had the undoubtable pleasure of capturing support act Wild Smiles.

The Winchester trio are proving a force to be reckoned with. Well received by all who have seen them live, and receiving air play and applause for their studio output it’s time for them to take the headline slot and get out for a series of top of the bill gigs, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to capitalise on the support by getting signed to a new record label.

Well, wouldn’t you believe it? – This has all happened. Live dates throughout May & June have been confirmed, and the band has just signed to Rob Da Bank’s label, Sunday Best alongside a publishing deal with Sunday Best/Domino Publishing Co. (the first time the two have ever worked together.) Things are looking up, and so they should be.

Wild Smiles are one of those bands that it’s easy to get lost with. You find yourself popping on one of their tunes for a quick listen, next thing you know you’ve been trawling the internet for as much info and tunes/videos as you can find. Combining the sweet sounds of So-Cal surf, with darker underbelly of Lou Reed’s New York, you catch more up to date twists akin to Pixies and Dandy Warhol’s. Their latest offering ‘Fool For You’ is a catchy number that is available as a free download via the bands Facebook page. Here’s the video…

Don’t be content with this though – Wild Smiles are a band well worth checking out in more detail. See what else you can find online and get yourself along to see them live.

Wild Smiles are:

Chris Peden (Vocals, Guitar),

Joe Peden (Vocals, Bass)

Ben Cook (Drums).
