Currently getting ready to wow audiences in the United States at SXSW and the New York-based New Colossus Festival (that’s only in its second year but already a fixture on the music calendar), Norwegian quartet Pom Poko have felt that they need to acquaint themselves with audiences once again.
Hence the video for “Praise“, a frenetic, poppier track from the group’s debut, Birthday, released last year through independent heavyweight Bella Union.
Though admittedly it’s more of a postcard with music than an actual music video, given that many listeners still use YouTube as a means of accessing new music, you can’t blame the band for using this platform to remind audiences the immediacy their debut warrants – if it hasn’t yet passed through your headphone/Bluetooth speaker/soundbar.
The group makes festival appearances in the United Kingdom in May:
