American indie band Darwin Deez arrived at Dublin’s venue Whelan’s for the fourth date of the tour of a string of UK & Irish dates performing the self titled debut album in full for its 10th anniversary.
What a night, renowned for the most entertaining performances is an understatement! from start to finish the venue is a buzz with adoring fans. In this imamate venue fans are clambering for front row positions, so much so myself and other photographer the was there decided after one song to move back out of the way and let the fans party and party they did with singalong after singalong, dancing on top of more dancing.
Opening the show with one of their choreographed dance routines that the band are renowned for they then played the album in order with Darwin engaging with the fans on many occasions

With talk of how he doesn’t like the Dublin architecture but the people are fantastic, realising why it cost so much for the ferry from England as the fans here are top shelf fans at the cost is worth it.
Some fan must have forgotten that the set list was to be primarily the debut album as many times other songs are called for, this is not to say others weren’t played this happening once the album was completed, the encore which opened again with one of the choreographed dance routines was to be there songs, the finial song being Say It First , but it seemed that the band were having so much fun they decided to play a fourth to the fans delight!

So another show ends in Whelan’s and the fans leave, well not all some are hanging back in the hope to meet Darwin and some are hanging back for the club after, but everyone is still buzzing.

Irish based concert photographer, maybe! ever so slightly addicted to gigs. Listens mostly to alternative / goth / folk punk / punk / ska. I blame the 80s.
