Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes are an English punk rock band formed in 2015 by frontman Frank  Carter and guitarist Dean Richardson. They made an impact on the Punk scene with their energetic live shows and powerful music. Their songs are made of more sterner stuff relating to Frank’s youth and releasing the Album Dark Rainbow back in January.

The Style is steering more towards ‘The Arctic Monkeys’ with emotionally charged power ballads! The Band have now announced a Hiatus after a rumpus electrifying nine years, and Frank Carter wrote, “It’s been a celebration of being alive no matter the circumstances” Maybe it’s the result of Frank’s recent shows with the ‘Sex Pistols’ that brought this on but time will tell, and anticipation will be high!

Tonight’s support comes from local Hastings trio, ‘HotWax’ which consists of vocalist /guitarist Tallulah Sim-Savage, bassist Lola Sam and Drummer Alfie Sayers. Back in 2020 they released a string of singles including ‘Stay Cool’ and ‘When We’re Dead’ to date they have toured with ‘Royal Blood‘ and played an electrifying set at Chalk for the Great Escape festival back in 2023.

As soon as the ‘The Concorde’ lights dim, the band confidently rips into the song ‘One More Reason’ Talulah’s vocals are superb throughout, ripping through the guitar chords. Theire latest single ‘She’s Got A Problem’ is a gem to watch performed live with such passion, ripping up the stage with a roaring baseline. You can spot 90’s indie-rock fused with Punk Rock shine through in the songs with some influence from the American band ‘Starcrawler’. Watch this space as the future will see great things come
from this trio!

With The Crowd already hyped up and ‘White Rabbit’ by Jefferson Airplane playing in the background Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes take to the Stage. They immediately rip through Honey, taken from the recent album ‘Dark Rainbow’. Frank Carter takes to the mic with fury and swings around the stage, and it is received well by fans with plenty of new material from the new album being played. Frank Carter and Dean Richards are the band’s two core members and take additional members with them on tour. The additional guitarist, Elliot Russel, is on top form and fits in nicely, playing occasional keys. ‘Tyrant Lizard Kings’ sees Dean rip through a savage guitar solo with such dedication which is well received by the loyal fans base.

After the roaring ‘Wild Flowers’, Frank asks the audience to open up the floor, “For the ladies”, with the idea of having a safe space for the female audience to mosh around in! Most of Frank Carter’s lyrics deal with issues in modern society and personal experience. The powerful Lyrics of ‘My Town’ mention used needles lying around, a sad realism seen in many cities anywhere across the globe.

Before Long Frank jumps into the crowd to mosh alongside his fans, to only stop for one brief moment, when he find the house and car keys on the floor for an unsuspecting audience member., a nice humanin touch to shout out into the mic, ‘who do they belong to?’ The mosh pit was utter carnage from the set go. Frank is very much a man of the people and aware of his audience. He dedicates the onslaught of moshing fans and ‘Fangs’ to the Brighton people!

As Anyone who knows ‘Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes’, knows that with tradition the closer of the night would be ‘I hate you’, an ode to the one’s self despise. This penultimate punk anthem show the rattlesnakes as a prime contender in the history of the British Punk scene! With one more loud cheer and sweaty dance, the night chimes out and just proves the band will be missed if no more future live shows will take place!
