Live Review & Gallery: ROYA Bring Heart to Oxford Art Factory – Eora Land/Sydney, 31.01.26

Danish electro-pop superduo ROYA have racked up massive streaming numbers and a devoted global following, so catching them at the intimate Oxford Art Factory over the weekend felt like a genuine treat. They absolutely delivered, and the space created exactly the kind of warm, connected atmosphere that makes electro-pop gigs so sparkly and unforgettable.

Made up of Line Gade (vocals) and Sebastian Igens (production), the pair have an undeniable chemistry that balloons off the stage, encompassing everyone in the room. Their minimal stage setup centered around their keys, electric drums, and synths put the focus squarely on their craft, and from the first note, they were absolutely brimming with excitement.

I’ve attended countless gigs at the beloved OAF, and I can confidently say I’ve never seen an audience surrender to the music so freely and so quickly. The duo’s infectious energy was impossible to resist, and within minutes, the entire room was moving. It’s easy to see why they rose so rapidly after the viral success of ‘Ain’t Just A Game’ and breakout hit ‘Cruise’. Their live show delivers exactly what their records promise, only amplified.

If you get the chance to catch ROYA live, don’t sleep on it. This is dance music done right, and an awesome night out – accompanied by charming musicians and an unskippable discography.
