Kat Davids is a Berlin-based producer, DJ, radio host, and a member of the CURA Berlin collective. Her music is shaped by analog machines, field recordings, and playful percussion, resulting in tracks rich in mood, texture, and sonic detail, with her own voice woven in at times.

Her recent releases include “Dust” on Intercept Records and “Haunted” on Tresor Records, as well as contributions to the Nachtdigital vinyl LP and a Klinkamusic various artists release. With ‘winterswell’, Kat releases her first vinyl EP, carrying the same focused approach found in both her studio work and her DJ and live performances. Since 2022, Kat has hosted her regular show ‘Spinning Grounds’ on THF Radio, welcoming nearly 60 guests from around the world, ranging from emerging talents toestablished artists. She founded the FLINTA* collective V.A. Femme, which she now runswith other musicians to support musical exchange and community-driven learning.

‘winterswell’ threads together raw emotion, playful rhythms, and analog warmth. Following singles on Tresor and Intercept Records, Kat Davids pulls no punches withher first EP.
“Manavgat” hurtles you down a dirt road at dusk, brooding and atmospheric, while “Baby I Know What You Want” threads vocals through rolling percussion and a driving bass as the club thrives in unison.

Remixes extend the EP’s landscape: Mr. G reshapes the material into grainy, coded dub house textures, while Ben Kaczor emphasizes low-end depth and taut, hypnotic tension. ‘winterswell’ is a vinyl release where intimacy, texture, and rhythm converge with confidence and nuance.

Verdict: Two solid originals from Kat Davids and both remixes on the flip hitting the mark. The originals roll on driving beats under hypnotic swirling atmospheres while the remixes go deeper and darker, giving this release a perfect blend of styles. Techno, Tech House and minimal all on one cut with each artist involved laying down some serious quality productions.
